DAR members learn about proposed amendments on November ballot

Members of the John Bartram Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently learned about the proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution that will be on the November ballot.

Two speakers from the League of Women Voters – Beth Hicks and Linda Carpenter – attended the group’s recent meeting and gave a very detailed explanation of each of the amendments and why they are on the ballot. They also were able to show which groups are in favor of or against each amendment.

Members also were directed to VOTE411.org to see candidates’ responses to a variety of questions and to review their positions. It also was suggested that due to the number of amendments, members print out the responses and take them to the polls.
