Community Development District 7 will draft a “stern” letter to the Developer asking for financial support for the $1.7 million project to shore up the embankment of the Morse Boulevard bridge.

The Project Wide Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from CDDs 5 through 10, earlier this month rejected the idea of asking the Developer for financial support for the project.

However, CDD 7 in 2014 struck out on its own and asked the Developer for financial help with the installation of a traffic light on Colony Boulevard. The Developer chipped in $100,000.

CDD 7 Supervisor Jerry Vicenti said they had nothing to lose.

“Our cut of this is going to be $170,000. That’s going to come out of our budget,” Vicenti said.

He added that the Colony Boulevard letter had been “a little soft.” He said this letter should be a bit more “stern.”
