CDD 1 supervisors brace for phone calls as letters go out informing residents of 10 percent hike

The annual maintenance assessment is going up 10 percent in Community Development District 1.

CDD 1 supervisors discussed the likelihood they will be hearing from residents about the hike.

“While a 10 percent increase might sound like at lot, it works out to a $20.87 average increase for villa owners and an average annual increase of $35.56 for other unit owners,” said Budget Director Barbara Kays.

Letters have gone out notifying CDD 1 residents of the increase.

“I imagine you’ll be getting phone calls,” Kays said.

A primary reason for the increase is the anticipation of costs for work to combat invasive species at the Hudson Morse Parr Preserve.
