Bobby Villela and the Loud Boys are looking to set another blood-drive record when they hold their sixth annul Give Fore Life event Oct. 11 at SeaBreeze Recreation Center.

Last year, OneBlood collected 396 units of blood at the event, setting a record for OneBlood’s Gulf Coast Region.

The blood drive can be traced back to Villela’s friend Roy Bishop who became ill which prompted Villela to give a unit of blood. Bishop passed away, but the blood drive lives on in his honor.

Villela is a well-known bartender at City Fire in The Villages.

So the goodies available to blood donors will include a coupon to City Fire. Donors will also receive a free meal after their donation. Donors will receive a free blood drive T-shirt, too.

The blood drive will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.

You can schedule your appointment ahead of time by going to oneblood.org and using account number 23403.
