Alligator wanders down sidewalk surprising residents in Pennecamp
An alligator wanders down the sidewalk at the home of Ed and Laura Burton in the Village of Pennecamp.

Ed Burton of the Village of Pennecamp shot photos of an uninvited visitor.

A 7-foot alligator wandered down his sidewalk at about 4 p.m. Thursday and made himself at home in the landscaping.

The alligator stayed for about 45 minutes. Watch video of the alligator below.

Burton and his wife Laura are from South Florida and both are University of Florida graduates.

So perhaps it was the Gator connection?

Burton immediately sent out an email warning to the neighborhood, advising neighbors to keep their pets indoors.

He also called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission who in turn notified a trapper.
