Actress Megan Boone pledges her TV character will ‘never carry an assault rifle again’

Actress Megan Boone has announced on Twitter that her character on NBC’s “The Blacklist” will “never carry an assault rifle again.”

Boone, who plays FBI agent Elizabeth Keen, apologized if she ever painted assault rifles in a positive light.

“I am deeply sorry for participating in glorifying them in the past. Yours, girl from Florida,” she tweeted.

The gun debate has been raging across the nation after 17 people were killed on Valentine’s Day at a high school in Parkland.

Boone, the daughter of Villages Vice President Jennifer Parr, also spoke out on Twitter in 2016 in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Boone has also spoken out on climate change.
