An accident near Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg backed up traffic Tuesday afternoon.
An accident near Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg backed up traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency responders were on the scene of an accident that occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 441 near Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg.

A two-year-old child was thrown from a vehicle in the accident and died of injuries suffered in the crash.

Witnesses indicated traffic was backed up in both directions after the accident.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies and Leesburg police were on the scene with other emergency responders.
