An Oxford man was arrested Wednesday at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge shopping plaza after allegedly trying to fraudulently return an oil filter and other products.
Zachary Ryan Holly, 24, of Oxford, allegedly tried to return the items for cash, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Holly had a receipt from the day before, but video surveillance showed Holly and a woman putting the items into at Wal-Mart shopping bag on Wednesday. A loss prevention officer also looked up the receipt from the day of the purchase and Holly was not the person who had made the purchase, the arrest report indicated.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of shoplifting. He was released after posting $500 bond.
