
A 70-year-old Villager was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital after he allegedly punched another man and insulted a supporter of the LGBT community while intoxicated at Spanish Springs Town Square.
Larry Hale Pogue of 2174 Estevez Drive is facing a charge of disorderly intoxication follow the incident Friday.
Lady Lake police responded to the scene and found Pogue, argumentative and intoxicated, seated in front of the band, according to the arrest report. Several witnesses told police Pogue had punched another individual. He then made a derogatory comment to a woman wearing a shirt supporting the LGBT community and told her to get out of his seat, the arrest report indicated.
Due to his intoxicated state, Pogue was transported by Lake EMS to the hospital.
He has been ordered to appear July 15 in Lake County Court.
Pogue had been arrested this past February on a charge of disorderly intoxication at American Legion Post 347. He pleaded no contest to that charge and was sentenced to six months probation and fined $150.
