66-year-old man arrested on DUI charge after driving with inoperable headlight

A 66-year-old man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after a police officer spotted that his vehicle had an inoperable headlight.

Osiris Francisco Nunez of Fruitland Park had been driving a 2004 Volvo at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Lake Ella Road when an officer spotted Nunez’s vehicle had a headlight out, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The officer suspected that Nunez had been drinking.

“You know I had the amount of wine you have with dinner,” Nunez admitted.

He failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .157 and .152 blood alcohol content.

He was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Lake County Jail.
